My participation in the GSA led to Utah passing an anti-discrimination bill

In March, Utah passed LGBT protections into law. It was a really exciting event and I'm glad I could be a part of it!

I lived in Mexico for 6 months

I made a lot of friends, saw a lot of museums, and ate a lot of unfamiliar food. I also took some CS classes in Spanish and learned a lot! Just don't ask me the vocab in English!

I have a magnet in my finger

In December, I heard about a piercing that would let me sense magnetic fields and pick up small, metal objects. In January, my roommate and I ordered small magnets and paid a piercer to put them in our fingers. It was really painful for a few weeks, but almost immediately we realized that we could feel buzzing from our microwave, pulling from magnets, and a barely-perceptible tingle from iron objects. It's been 7 months and I'm still randomly discovering that things are magnetic and being amazed.
